In its August 16 D23 announcement, Disney said parts of Monstropolis at Hollywood Studios will open in 2027 while work continues on the door coaster.
Announced features include a Mike-and-Sulley theater show, Harryhausen’s restaurant and Scareporium shopping. The announcement does not promise the coaster will open with those first offerings.
An October culinary preview adds more detail to the dining plans. Harryhausen’s is being developed as a table-service restaurant with a sushi-chef Audio-Animatronic at the center, while Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza is a quick-service concept inspired by Monsters University.
Disney’s team is exploring familiar flavors with playful monster touches, including ramen concepts and a version of the fictional drink Blort. These are development previews, not a final menu or a reservation opening. For a future trip, keep dining announcements separate from the still-developing coaster timeline.
